“I chose LAPS Studio to proofread my dark fantasy romance novel. Laura’s email communication is thorough and encouraging. She pointed out patterns in my language choices that my copyeditor and I had missed, and my final published manuscript is all the better for it!”

Common Questions
-
Yes, as long as I have not started on your manuscript or blog, you can change the editing service. Please let me know ASAP so we can adjust our contract and any changes in payments and scheduling. 🙏🏼
-
I follow the latest version of the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) for fiction, nonfiction, and arts and humanities books.
Other than CMOS, I use the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary.
For writers who have created a style guide and glossary they wish their work to follow, I encourage them to send them over so I can ensure accuracy and consistency. ☺️
-
I accept manuscripts in the format of MS Word, Google Docs, and Adobe.
Note: I do make a copy of large manuscripts that will be edited via Google Docs to reduce and prevent any lag and fluctuation of the document if the client edits as I am editing.
-
If clients have made their own style guide and/or glossary, I ask them to send me a copy so I can ensure their story is consistent and concise throughout. 🤗
-
Your manuscript and document goes through two to three, careful and thorough, rounds of edits with me. Depending on the complexity and genre of your work, my editing process can take anywhere from two to six weeks.
During our chats, we will discuss timelines and come to an agreed upon timeframe that ensure your publishing journey is on track and I give your work the attention it deserves.
